History

Murray’s Tile & Marble was founded in 1985 by David Murray.  Dave quickly became one of the most sought-after installers of quality Tile and Marble Products by custom home builders, discriminate homeowners, and business professionals. 

As Murray’s customer base grew and the demand for his services exceeded the capabilities of a solo installer, Dave expanded his business with an assistant.  This allowed him to increase his productivity but remain active as an installed and continue to directly control the quality of every installation.  Over time his assistant gained the experience and skill sets required to manage installations on their own.  This allowed Dave to further grow the business and reduce the often several weeks wait for Murray Tile to complete their job.

Dave remained involved with every project handing all estimates, monitoring job sites, and confirming all work met the quality standards which Murray Tile & Marble had defined. 

Over the next several years Dave continued to grow the business and expanded his installation team allowing him to spend more time with customers and give his body a break from the physical demands of installing Tile and Marble products.

Dave was also a visionary.  Over the years he had noticed that on a routine basis projects were delayed due to the delay in obtaining products.  Whether it was a homeowner having a difficult time selecting tiles or a delay in shipment from a distributor, the delays were a common issue.  In the summer of 2015, Murray’s Tile and Marble opened their showroom in Endicott, NY.  The plan was very simple, have an extensive selection of quality products and make them readily available at a competitive price.  Since it’s opening the showroom has not only reduced the delay for Murray Tile & Marble customers but has also become a destination for other looking to evaluate and purchase quality products.

In July of 2021, Dave Murray succumbed to a fatal cardiac event while on vacation with family. While an event such as this always is always surrounded by uncertainty, the continued operations of Murray Tile & Marble was certain. Within days many local contractors, business associates, customers and friends had numerous discussions related to the importance of keeping Dave’s dream alive and continuing to provide the quality service to our community.  Murray Tile and Marble was ultimately acquired by two experienced contractors who formed a partnership to achieve this goal.

Today, Murray Tile and Marble continues to provide customers with high quality materials and expert installations. Whether it’s a kitchen backsplash or a 200-room hotel, we can handle all your tiling needs.
